Transient Voltage Suppressor is a semiconductor device which acts as protection for various electronics circuits. It is made up of various high grade components that are connected in such a manner to react against sudden overvoltage conditions. It is useful for both unidirectional or bidirectional electrostatic discharge protection of data lines in circuits.
